Best Brazilian TV Streaming in the USA (2026): Globoplay vs Sling

Short answer: if Globo is the channel your family actually watches, buy Globoplay Internacional directly and stop there. If you also want Record, SBT and Band, a Sling TV Brazilian pack is the only licensed bundle that puts all four networks in one app. The catch: Brasileirão and Libertadores coverage in the US is split across different rights holders, so no Brazilian pack guarantees you every match.

Why the network matters more than the price

All the licensed options land somewhere between $14 and $30 a month. The difference between them isn't really price. It's which Brazilian networks you get.

Globo owns most of the novelas people miss, plus Jornal Nacional and Fantástico. Record has its own novelas and a big evangelical audience. SBT carries programmes like Programa do Ratinho and the Silvio Santos catalogue. Band leans on news and sport. Plenty of families are loyal to one of these and barely watch the others.

So before comparing plans, ask the people who'll actually watch. If the answer is "just Globo," the cheapest option wins outright.

Globoplay Internacional

Globo's own international service launched in the US at $13.99 a month, and that's still the widely reported price in 2026. You pay in dollars with a normal US card, with no Brazilian CPF needed, which is the main reason people end up on it after struggling with the domestic Brazilian app.

What you get is Globo-first: the TV Globo Internacional feed, a large catalogue of novelas and Globo originals, and, depending on the current plan, some of Globo's pay channels like GloboNews. The international catalogue is narrower than the one in Brazil, because Globo doesn't hold overseas rights to everything it airs at home. Some films and foreign series simply won't be there.

Subscriptions are sold through the app stores, so you manage and cancel them through Apple or Google like any other app subscription. It runs on phones, tablets, Apple TV, Android TV and Google TV devices, Fire TV, and recent Samsung and LG TVs.

Worth it if: Globo is the household's channel. It's the cheapest licensed way in and the on-demand library is the best of any option here.

Not worth it if: someone insists on Record or SBT. You'll end up paying for Sling as well.

Sling's Brazilian packs

Sling sells Brazilian channels in tiers, and it's the only licensed service that gets Globo, Record, SBT and Band into the same guide. Each tier has up to three simultaneous streams and cloud DVR, with more storage available for a few dollars extra.

Roughly, as of September 2026: the Globo pack is Globo alone at around $14. Brasil Especial adds Record TV Americas and SBT for about $20. Brasil Máximo adds Band, BandNews and Premiere for about $30. Sling often cuts the first month in half, so the introductory figure you see advertised won't be what you pay in month two.

The DVR is the underrated part. Brazil's evening novelas air at times that clash with US work schedules, especially on the West Coast. Recording and watching later is more useful than having extra channels.

Worth it if: the household splits its viewing across networks, or someone wants a channel-guide experience rather than an on-demand app.

A trade-off: Sling's on-demand library is thinner than Globoplay's for Globo content. Some families run both.

Football is the awkward part

Here's the thing most comparison pages skip. Buying a Brazilian pack doesn't mean you'll get Brazilian football.

Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil rights for the US are sold separately from domestic Brazilian rights, and they've moved between broadcasters in recent seasons. Libertadores and Sudamericana US rights sit with whoever CONMEBOL has licensed that cycle, which isn't necessarily a Portuguese-language channel. Premiere on Sling carries some Brazilian matches, but not the full schedule.

Check the competition's official broadcaster list for the US before each season. Our guide to sports streaming and rights explains why this changes so often.

Who should buy what

  • Grandparents who watch the 9pm novela and the news: Globoplay Internacional on a streaming stick. Simple, cheap, done.
  • A mixed household, some Globo, some Record: Sling Brasil Especial.
  • Football fans: Sling Brasil Máximo for Premiere and Band, then check whether a US sports service holds the competition you follow.
  • Someone who mostly watches clips: the free Globoplay tier inside Sling and broadcasters' YouTube channels may be enough.

What to steer clear of

Boxes and "IPTV lists" offering every Brazilian channel, Premiere, SporTV and the pay-per-view football packages for $10-15 a month aren't licensed. No one legitimately sells that combination in the US at that price. They also tend to disappear mid-season, taking your annual payment with them. We cover the warning signs separately.

Also skip using a VPN with a Brazilian Globoplay account. The domestic plan is licensed for Brazil, Globo's terms don't permit it, and Globoplay Internacional exists precisely so you don't need to.
