Short answer: there's no single best IPTV service in Canada for sport, because the rights are split between rival companies. Rogers' Sportsnet has most NHL games and every Blue Jays game, Bell's TSN has the CFL and half the Raptors, Fubo has the Premier League and DAZN has the Champions League. For a fan of two or three of those, a telco TV package with both TSN and Sportsnet often works out cheaper than buying the streaming apps one by one.

The rights map, league by league
Most of the "best IPTV in Canada" lists you'll find label one service "best for sports" and claim it carries TSN, Sportsnet and everything else. No licensed service does that, because Bell owns TSN and Rogers owns Sportsnet, and each keeps its rights to itself. Here's where things actually sit for 2026-27.
NHL. Rogers holds the national rights and the new long-term deal that began this season, so Sportsnet carries the bulk of national games, including Saturday night's showcase. Regional rights are split: Sportsnet carries several teams' regional games, while TSN holds regional rights for others, including part of the Maple Leafs' schedule. TVA has French-language national rights, and Amazon's Prime Video carries an exclusive weekly game.
Blue Jays. Rogers owns the team, and Sportsnet carries the full regular season.
Raptors. Games are divided between TSN and Sportsnet, so seeing the full season means having both. NBA League Pass covers out-of-market games, with Canadian blackouts for the Raptors.
CFL. TSN, with RDS in French, carries the league.
Premier League. Fubo Canada holds exclusive Canadian rights, renewed in 2025.
Champions League. DAZN has exclusive rights to UEFA's club competitions through 2026-27, and sub-licenses some midweek matches to TSN, which streams them on TSN+.
NFL. Sunday games air on CTV and TSN, and DAZN carries the NFL's out-of-market package in Canada.

Sportsnet+ went up on 22 September 2026, from $29.99 to $34.99 a month for Standard and from $42.99 to $44.99 for Premium. For a full NHL regular season alone, the annual plan is roughly break-even: $269.99 against about $245 for seven monthly payments. It pulls ahead once you count the playoffs and the Blue Jays season.
NHL in 2026-27: what changed
Hockey is the sport most Canadians are buying for, and this season reshuffled it.
- Monday Night Hockey is exclusive to Sportsnet+. If you get Sportsnet through a cable or telco package, you need a $12.99-a-month add-on to see those games. Rogers TV Plus and Ultimate customers get them at no extra cost.
- 150 regional blackouts lifted. Sportsnet says the national schedule now runs to more than 550 games.
- Wednesday games move to Prime Video. Those need a Prime membership rather than Sportsnet.
- Saturday night is now branded Saturday Night Hockey on Sportsnet.
The practical upshot for a Leafs fan: Sportsnet+ Standard covers most games, TSN covers part of the regional schedule, Prime Video covers the Wednesday exclusives, and Monday games are Sportsnet+ only. That's three subscriptions for one team, which is why so many fans end up back on a TV package.
Cheapest setups for typical fans
Hockey only, one Canadian team. Sportsnet+ Standard annual, $269.99, plus Prime (which many households already have). Add TSN+ only if your team's regional games sit on TSN.
Jays and Leafs. Sportsnet+ Standard annual covers the Jays and most Leafs games. Budget about $270 a year, plus TSN+ if you want every Leafs regional game.
Raptors, every game. Sportsnet+ and TSN+ together: about $520 a year on annual plans. A telco package with both networks is often cheaper.
CFL. TSN+ at about $250 a year, or a TV package with TSN.
Premier League supporter. Fubo Canada Sports. On the August 2026 promotion, an annual plan was $231; regular annual pricing was $293.99.
European football beyond the EPL. Fubo for the Premier League and Serie A, plus DAZN for the Champions League. The DAZN cost is the one to price carefully, as it varies with promotions.
Everything Canadian. Stop buying apps and look at a telco package.
When a telco package beats the apps
Bell's Fibe TV "Good" package includes both TSN and Sportsnet, along with CTV, CBC, Global, Citytv and more than 45 other channels, at $55 a month on promotion or $60 regular, as listed in October 2026. Fibe TV subscribers who take TSN also get TSN's full streaming tier in the TSN app at no extra charge.
Compare that with buying Sportsnet+ Standard monthly ($34.99) and TSN+ (roughly $21 a month on its annual price) separately: about $56 a month before you've added a single non-sports channel. For a household that wants both networks year-round, the telco route usually wins, provided you're a Bell Internet customer. Telus and Rogers have equivalent packages in their regions.
The apps win when you follow one sport, one network, or only part of the year. Cancelling Sportsnet+ in the off-season is easy; cancelling a two-year telco bundle isn't.
Getting a good picture for live sport
Sport punishes weak home networks more than anything else you watch. A few things make a visible difference:
- Wire the main TV. An Ethernet connection removes Wi-Fi drops at the worst possible moment. Our guide to the best streaming box for sports covers devices with a port.
- Check the frame rate. Hockey looks noticeably smoother at 60 frames per second. Most of the Canadian apps stream at 60fps on capable devices; our article on 60fps settings for sports explains how to make sure your TV isn't undoing it.
- Expect a delay. Streams typically run 20 to 60 seconds behind cable. If your phone buzzes with goal alerts, turn them off. Our explainer on sports streaming delay and rights covers why.
Why sports IPTV deals fail at puck drop
Every competing list for this search recommends services offering TSN, Sportsnet, DAZN, Fubo and every US network for $15 to $20 a month. Sport is precisely what Canadian rights holders defend hardest. Federal Court orders since 2022 have required ISPs to block pirate NHL and MLB streams in real time during games, and a July 2026 order lets rights holders add new pirate sites without returning to court.
The result is that these services tend to fail exactly when you need them: at the start of a playoff game, with the seller unreachable and your annual payment gone. Our IPTV scam checklist covers how to spot them. If the budget is the issue, the cheapest legal route to most Canadian hockey is Sportsnet+ Standard at about $22.50 a month on the annual plan.
