Short answer: Paramount+ streams every 2026-27 Champions League match in English in the US, and the cheaper Essential plan ($8.99 a month) is enough. Premium ($13.99) adds your local CBS station, which only matters for the handful of matches CBS puts on broadcast TV. The catch for IPTV users: Paramount+ doesn't issue playlists, so it won't load in TiviMate or any other player. It runs in its own app, which is on every major TV platform.
At a glance
Champions League on Paramount+
| Matches | All of them, live and on demand |
| Plan to buy | Essential, $8.99/mo or $89.99/yr |
| Final | June 5, 2027, Madrid |
| In Spanish | TUDN, Univision family, ViX |
| IPTV player? | No, Paramount+ app only |
Essential or Premium?
This is the question most people arrive with, and the answer is simpler than Paramount's plan page makes it look. CBS Sports holds the English-language US rights to the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League through 2030, and every one of those matches streams on both plans.
| Essential | Premium | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (August 2026) | $8.99/mo, $89.99/yr | $13.99/mo, $139.99/yr |
| Every UCL, UEL, UECL match | Yes | Yes |
| Live local CBS station | No | Yes, where available |
| Ads in on-demand shows | Yes | No (live sport still has ad breaks) |
| Downloads | No | Yes |
| Streams at once | 3 | 3 |
So when does Premium earn its extra $5? When a match you care about is on the CBS broadcast network rather than streaming-only. CBS usually takes the final and occasional big knockout games, but those also stream on Paramount+ itself, and an antenna picks up CBS for free. We'd buy Essential and only reconsider if you also want Showtime's full library or NFL games on your local CBS station.
The 2026-27 calendar, and when to pay
The Champions League runs for nine months, but the matches cluster. Knowing the calendar lets you pay only when there's football worth watching.
| Stage | Dates | Matches |
|---|---|---|
| League phase (8 matchdays) | Sept 8, 2026 to Jan 27, 2027 | 144 |
| Knockout playoffs | Feb 16-24, 2027 | 16 |
| Round of 16 | March 9-17, 2027 | 16 |
| Quarterfinals | April 6-14, 2027 | 8 |
| Semifinals | April 27 to May 5, 2027 | 4 |
| Final | June 5, 2027, Metropolitano, Madrid | 1 |
Here's how the money works out on Essential:
- Whole season, monthly: subscribe on September 8 and nine monthly payments carry you past the June 5 final: $80.91. The annual plan is $89.99, so monthly is actually cheaper, and you keep the freedom to cancel.
- Knockouts only: subscribe in mid-February and cancel after the final. That's four to five months, about $36 to $45, and you still see every elimination match.
- Black Friday: Paramount+ ran a $2.99-a-month offer for two months in November 2025. If something similar returns this year, it covers the last league-phase matchdays almost for free.
If you follow one club, the other natural exit is January 27: teams outside the top 24 are out after the league phase, and there's no reason to keep paying. More on the general trade-off in annual versus monthly plans.
Paramount+ isn't a playlist
People who already use IPTV players often expect to "add" Paramount+ the way they'd add a provider. It doesn't work like that. Paramount+ is an IPTV service in the literal sense, but it delivers through its own app with its own DRM and account login. There's no M3U URL and no Xtream Codes login to type into TiviMate, IPTV Smarters or OTT Navigator.
That has a practical side effect: if you see a playlist advertising "CBS Sports Golazo, Paramount+ UCL 1-8" channels, those feeds aren't coming from Paramount. They're restreams. How Xtream Codes logins work explains why a legitimate service would hand you one and Paramount+ doesn't.
What an IPTV player is good for here is the free stuff. Pluto TV channels, and your local CBS station through an antenna tuner like an HDHomeRun, can sit in the same channel guide as the rest of your legal playlists.
Devices, Multiview and streams
The Paramount+ app is available on Roku, Fire TV (including the newer Vega OS sticks), Google TV and Android TV, Apple TV, Samsung, LG and Vizio smart TVs, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Android and the web. On a Fire TV specifically, our Fire TV guide covers which models run which apps.
Multiview arrived in September 2025 for the start of the Champions League, letting you watch up to four feeds at once. It launched on the web first, with apps promised later. If you're planning a Tuesday night with four matches on one screen, check that the feature is live on your TV's app before kickoff; a laptop connected by HDMI is the fallback that definitely works.
Three streams at once is the household cap on either plan. Bandwidth matters more than device here. A single HD match wants a steady 10 to 15 Mbps; Multiview on a big screen, more like 25 Mbps. If two people in the house are watching different matches over Wi-Fi at 3 p.m. ET, that's where buffering starts. A wired connection to the main TV removes most of the risk.
Europa League and Conference League come with it
The same Paramount+ subscription carries UEFA's other two club competitions, and they're easy to overlook. The Europa League and Conference League play on Thursdays, so in a busy week you can have Champions League on Tuesday and Wednesday and more European football on Thursday night, all for the one $8.99 plan.
That matters most if you follow a club that bounces between competitions. A Premier League or Serie A side that finishes fifth or sixth usually lands in the Europa League, and domestic cup winners often do too. Under the new format, clubs knocked out of the Champions League no longer drop into the Europa League mid-season, so the Thursday competitions are set from August. Either way, those games are on Paramount+ too.
Paramount+ also carries Serie A, the Scottish Premiership, the English Football League and the Women's Champions League. If European football is your main reason to pay for anything, it's hard to find more of it per dollar in the US.
What you can watch without paying
- CBS over the air: the final and selected knockout matches air on CBS, free with an antenna in most markets.
- CBS Sports Golazo Network: a free, ad-supported soccer channel on Pluto TV and the CBS Sports app, carrying studio shows, highlights and previews rather than full live UCL matches.
- Zona TUDN on ViX: ViX's free tier carries Spanish-language highlights and some studio programming.
- Highlights: CBS Sports posts full highlights on its YouTube channel shortly after each matchday.
Honest assessment: free gets you the final and the talk around it. For live midweek football you need a subscription.
Spanish-language coverage
TelevisaUnivision holds the Spanish-language rights. Selected matches air on TUDN, Univision, UniMás and Galavisión, with more streaming on ViX Premium (listed at $5.99 to $8.99 a month depending on plan). Univision and UniMás are free over the air in most big markets; TUDN and Galavisión need a cable or live TV package. For the broader picture, see our guide to Spanish-language TV in the US.
Match-night problems, fixed
| Symptom | What's going on | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Match plays on phone but not on TV | Out-of-date TV app | Update or reinstall the Paramount+ app; restart the device |
| "Not available in your location" | VPN or work network detected | Turn off the VPN; Paramount+ blocks most of them |
| Can't find the match in the app | It's under Sports, not Live TV | Search the team name or open the UEFA Champions League hub |
| Local CBS channel missing | You're on Essential | Upgrade to Premium, or use an antenna |
| Third viewer gets an error | Stream limit hit | Three streams per account on both plans |
About the "UCL IPTV" sellers
A good share of results for this search are unlicensed sellers promising every Champions League match, plus the Premier League and La Liga, for one low price. It's tempting, because Paramount+ is already cheap by sports standards. But at $8.99 a month for every match in the competition, the licensed option is cheaper than most of those subscriptions, comes with a refund policy, and doesn't vanish halfway through the knockout rounds.
If you're weighing one up, run through the warning signs first.
