Cheapest Way to Get NFL Sunday Ticket in 2026: Every Price Ranked

Short answer: almost nobody should pay the $480 list price for NFL Sunday Ticket in 2026. Verified college students pay $119. Teachers, military, veterans, first responders and medical workers pay $198. New subscribers who bundle it with YouTube TV and YouTube Premium have been offered $204. And the price usually drops again once the season is a few weeks old. The catch: Sunday Ticket only carries out-of-market Sunday afternoon games, so if you mainly follow your local team, you're buying the wrong product.

At a glance

Sunday Ticket 2026 price ladder

Students $119 for the season
Teachers, military, first responders $198 via ID.me
New, with YouTube TV + Premium $204
List price $378 with YouTube TV, $480 without
RedZone add-on About $40 more

First: do you actually need it?

Sunday Ticket is a narrow product. It gives you every Sunday afternoon game that isn't airing on your local CBS or Fox station. That's it.

It doesn't include Sunday Night Football (NBC and Peacock), Monday Night Football (ESPN and ABC), Thursday Night Football (Prime Video), or the games shown on your local channels. If you live in Dallas and follow the Cowboys, most of their games are already on your local station for free with an antenna.

So Sunday Ticket earns its price for two kinds of fan: someone who follows a team from another market, like a Steelers fan in Phoenix, and someone who wants to flick between every game at 1pm. If you're neither, where every NFL game airs this season will likely show you a cheaper route.

Every 2026 price, lowest first

These are the published or widely reported prices for the 2026 season as of September. YouTube has adjusted offers several times in past seasons, so treat them as a snapshot.

Who With YouTube TV Without YouTube TV Conditions
College students $119 Verified student status; single account
Teachers, military, veterans, first responders, medical $198 ID.me verification
New subscribers with YouTube Premium $204 n/a Bundled promo
New subscribers $240 higher Monthly installments offered in some promos
Returning, with YouTube Premium $234 $336 $144 off list
List price $378 $480 No discount

Remember that the "with YouTube TV" column assumes you also pay for YouTube TV, which is $82.99 a month (or $64.99 on the Sports Plan). Over a five-month season that's $325 to $415 on top. If you wouldn't have YouTube TV otherwise, the standalone price through YouTube Primetime Channels is the one to compare.

The discount groups

Students ($119). The single biggest discount, about 75% off list. You need to be enrolled at an eligible US college or university and pass verification. Student plans have historically been limited to the student's own account, so no family sharing. Verification details are on YouTube's Sunday Ticket student page.

Service and public-sector workers ($198). Verified through ID.me. That covers active military, veterans, teachers, first responders and medical professionals. Worth checking even if you're not sure you qualify; the category list has expanded over the years.

YouTube Premium members. If you already pay for YouTube Premium, the returning-customer discount is $144. New YouTube TV subscribers with Premium have seen the lowest general-public price, $204.

Carrier and card perks. Some Verizon plans have included Sunday Ticket or discounted it in past seasons, and the offers change each year. Check your wireless plan's perks page before paying anything.

Buy late, pay less

Sunday Ticket is a fixed product with a shrinking number of games. YouTube has cut the price in past seasons once the schedule is underway, sometimes to a fraction of the September rate by November.

The trade-off is obvious: every week you wait is a week of games you miss. If your team starts badly, you've saved money. If they start well, you've missed games. A reasonable compromise for price-sensitive fans is to follow the early weeks through local broadcasts and highlights, then buy when the first price drop lands. We can't promise when or how much, since YouTube doesn't pre-announce it.

With YouTube TV or without?

Here's the full-season math, assuming a September-to-January subscription of five months:

Setup Sunday Ticket Other costs Season total
Standalone + antenna $480 $30 antenna about $510
YouTube TV Sports Plan + Ticket $378 $325 (5 x $64.99) about $703
Student, standalone + antenna $119 $30 antenna about $149
ID.me group + antenna $198 $30 antenna about $228

The bundle only makes sense if you'd pay for YouTube TV anyway. If you already do, add Sunday Ticket there and take the lower rate. If you don't, standalone plus an antenna is cheaper and still gets you your local CBS, Fox and NBC games.

Is RedZone worth the extra?

NFL RedZone, the channel that jumps between scoring chances across every Sunday afternoon game, costs about $40 on top of Sunday Ticket in 2026. For fantasy players it's arguably more useful than Sunday Ticket itself.

If you only want RedZone and not individual full games, there are cheaper ways to get it, such as sports add-ons on some live TV services. Compare those before paying for both.

Which price fits which fan

The out-of-market diehard. Your team plays in another city and you want every snap. Sunday Ticket is the only legal way to see most of their Sunday afternoon games. Check every discount group, then buy in September. Waiting for a price drop doesn't suit you.

The fantasy player. You care about scoring plays, not full games. RedZone is the real product. Buying RedZone alone through a sports add-on can cost well under $100 a season. Sunday Ticket plus RedZone is $40 on top of whatever Sunday Ticket costs you.

The casual Sunday watcher. You like having football on. Your local CBS and Fox stations already show two or three games every Sunday for free. Add NBC for Sunday night. You don't need Sunday Ticket.

The bar-hopper. If you'd mostly watch at a sports bar anyway, don't pay. Residential Sunday Ticket can't legally be shown in a business; bars buy a separate commercial licence.

The household that already pays for YouTube TV. Add it through YouTube TV, not standalone. The $102 difference between $378 and $480 is pure saving for you.

Watching it: devices and multiview

Sunday Ticket plays inside the YouTube TV app or the main YouTube app, on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Chromecast, smart TVs, game consoles, phones and browsers. Multiview, which puts up to four games on one screen, works on most TV platforms but not all; Google TV and Apple TV have supported it longest.

Two practical notes. Multiview and 4K both lean on your connection, so 50 Mbps or more is a comfortable floor for a household. And if you're streaming on an older stick that struggles with the YouTube app, a $30 to $50 replacement is the cheapest upgrade you'll make all season. Our streaming device picks.

What to avoid

Resold accounts and "shared" logins offered on marketplaces. They break YouTube's terms, and the account can be shut off mid-season with no refund.

IPTV sellers advertising "every NFL game" for $10. Not licensed. The NFL is one of the most aggressive rights holders at shutting these down, which is why they tend to fail at 1pm on Sunday. How to recognise them.

Paying full price in September out of habit. Check every discount category first.

Streaming quality matters too: a fast, wired connection helps with multiview. Fixing buffering during live games.
