Short answer: on our scoring, YuppTV comes out on top for most US households because it covers more Indian languages live than anything else licensed, with catch-up on top. Sling's Desi packs come second and win on apps and DVR. If your family really only watches one network, ZEE5 or SonyLIV beat both on price. Every pick below is a licensed service, and we show the scores so you can re-weight them for your own house.

How we scored them
The pages that rank for "best Indian IPTV" right now mostly list sellers with no prices, no channel lists and no method. So here's ours, up front.
We scored each licensed service from 1 to 5 on five things, then weighted them:
- Channels (30%). How many of the major Indian networks and languages it carries live. This gets the biggest weight because it's the reason people buy.
- Price (20%). What a typical household pays per month for the useful tier, from published prices.
- Apps (20%). Whether there's a proper app on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV and Samsung/LG TVs, from the official stores.
- Catch-up (15%). Replay, DVR or on-demand episodes. Indian prime time lands in the US morning, so this matters more than it would for US channels.
- Reliability (15%). Track record, public app-store ratings and how stable the line-up has been through contract renewals.
Weighted total = score × weight × 20, so a perfect service would hit 100. These are desk scores built from each service's own published plans and listings and from public ratings, not hands-on lab tests. If price matters more to you than channels, swap the weights and the order shifts; the raw scores are all in the table.
The scoring table
| Service | Channels | Price | Apps | Catch-up | Reliability | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YuppTV | 5 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 3 | 86 |
| Sling Desi | 4 | 3 | 5 | 4 | 4 | 80 |
| ZEE5 Global | 2 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 75 |
| SonyLIV | 2 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 4 | 71 |
| Sun NXT | 2 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 3 | 61 |
| DISH (satellite) | 4 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 5 | 60 |
Willow, the main US cricket channel, isn't scored because it's a sports add-on rather than an Indian TV service. Most households that want cricket buy it on top of one of the above, or get it inside a Sling Desi pack.
1. YuppTV: the widest licensed line-up
Why it wins: nobody else licensed in the US lists live channels across this many languages. Its app store listing names channels in Hindi (Star Plus, Colors, Zee TV, Star Bharat), Telugu (Star Maa, ETV, Zee Telugu and dozens of news channels), Tamil (Star Vijay, Colors Tamil), Malayalam (Asianet, Mazhavil Manorama, Flowers), Kannada (Zee Kannada, Colors Kannada), Marathi (Star Pravah, Zee Marathi), Bengali (Star Jalsha, Zee Bangla), plus Punjabi and Gujarati channels. Catch-up lets you scroll back through recent days of a channel's schedule, which suits the time difference.
What costs it points: reliability. On Apple's App Store the YuppTV app sat at 2.7 out of 5 from about 1,600 ratings when we checked in October 2026, and complaints tend to be about playback and app behaviour rather than content. It also charges small one-off device activation fees inside its iOS app ($1.99 for the first device, $2.99 for each of the next three). Plans have generally run from about $10 to $45 a month depending on language and pack. And it doesn't carry Sun TV.
Best for: Telugu and Malayalam homes, multi-language families, anyone who wants regional news. Full detail in our YuppTV review.
2. Sling Desi packs: the best-built apps
Why it ranks high: Sling is a big US streaming company, so its apps run on every major platform and get updated like a mainstream product. Desi packs are sold on their own with no English base plan. Its Hindi packs have carried Zee TV, Sony SET, SAB and Colors; its Dakshin packs are built around Sun Group; and its November 2023 deal added Star Plus, Vijay TV, Asianet, Star Maa, Star Jalsha, Star Pravah and Star Suvarna. Cloud DVR helps with the time zone gap.
What costs it points: price, once you add packs. Sling quoted Desi Binge Plus (on-demand plus Willow) at $15 a month and the Dakshin and Dakshin Mega packs at $20 and $25 a month in late 2023. A household that also wants English channels pays for Sling Orange or Blue on top. Line-ups have changed at every renewal, which is a risk on prepaid annual plans.
Best for: Hindi-first homes, Sun TV viewers, cricket fans who want one bill. See our Sling Desi review.
3. ZEE5 Global: cheapest if Zee is your network
Why it ranks: if your family's serials are on Zee TV, Zee Telugu, Zee Tamil, Zee Marathi or Zee Bangla, ZEE5 puts the episodes, films and originals in one app for less than any live bundle. US plans have started in the low single digits per month on annual billing, according to third-party price trackers in 2026; check the current plan on ZEE5's site.
What costs it points: it's one network. No Star, no Sony, no Sun, and live channels are limited compared with a proper live service.
Best for: single-network households and anyone adding Zee shows to a different live service.
4. SonyLIV: Sony serials, Shark Tank India and originals
Why it ranks: the same logic as ZEE5, for the Sony family: SET, SAB, Sony Marathi shows, reality formats and SonyLIV originals. It's in the US app stores on the main platforms.
What costs it points: single network, and some Sling packs already include SonyLIV content, so check you're not paying twice. We've scored price one notch below ZEE5 only because ZEE5's entry plan is the cheapest we found; confirm SonyLIV's current US price before deciding.
Best for: households built around Sony serials, and fans of its originals.
5 and 6. Sun NXT and DISH
Sun NXT (61). Sun Group's own app for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada content from Sun TV, Gemini, Surya and Udaya. It's the direct route to Sun serials and films without a Sling pack. It ranks lower because it's one network and its TV apps are less polished than Sling's.
DISH South Asian packages (60). Satellite, not IPTV, but it comes up in every family conversation, so it's scored. It's the most reliable option here because it doesn't depend on your broadband, and it carries a broad Hindi and regional line-up. It's also the most expensive once you count installation, equipment and a contract, and it can't follow you to a second home or a phone as easily. Check DISH's current South Asian line-up and pricing directly.
Re-weighting for your own house
Three common adjustments change the order:
- Grandparents at home all day: push Channels and Reliability up to 35% each and Price down. DISH climbs, because a dish doesn't buffer when the neighbourhood's broadband is busy.
- Tight budget, one network: push Price to 40%. ZEE5 or SonyLIV moves to first, as long as your shows are on that network.
- Everyone watches on phones: push Apps up and Catch-up up. Sling and the network apps gain; DISH drops out entirely.
Why the "500 channels for $15" sellers aren't here
Most of the other "best Indian IPTV" lists rank services you've never seen in an app store, sold through WhatsApp numbers and Telegram channels. We don't rank them, for a practical reason rather than a moral one: they can't score.
| Criterion | What an unlicensed seller offers |
|---|---|
| Channels | Claims every network, but feeds are re-streamed and vanish when they're taken down |
| Price | Cheap, usually a year up front, rarely refundable |
| Apps | Sideloaded files or a generic player; Amazon now blocks many on Fire TV |
| Catch-up | Advertised, often missing in practice |
| Reliability | No company to hold to account; the seller can disappear |
The tell is completeness. Star, Zee, Sony, Colors and Sun each sell US rights separately, which is why every licensed service above has gaps. An offer without gaps hasn't bought rights from anyone. How to spot an IPTV scam lists the other warning signs, and Indian channels in the USA covers how the rights picture got this fragmented.
Quick answers
What is the best Indian IPTV service? On our weighted scoring, YuppTV (86/100), because it carries the most Indian languages live with catch-up. Sling Desi is a close second with better apps.
What's the best Indian IPTV for Hindi only? Sling's Hindi packs or YuppTV for live channels. If you follow one network, its own app (ZEE5 or SonyLIV) is cheaper.
Which has Sun TV? Sling's Dakshin packs and Sun Group's own Sun NXT app. YuppTV doesn't list Sun TV.
Is YuppTV legal? Yes. It's a licensed distributor available in the official app stores.
Which Indian IPTV includes cricket? Sling's Desi Binge Plus has included Willow. Otherwise Willow is bought separately.
Do these need a special IPTV box? No. They're apps on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV and smart TVs.
Why aren't cheaper "Indian IPTV" providers ranked? They don't hold rights to the channels they sell, so they fail on reliability and accountability before price even comes into it.
Scores are editorial judgments from published plans, channel listings and public app ratings, not hands-on testing. Indian channel line-ups change at every contract renewal and some prices quoted are from earlier announcements, as dated in the text. Checked October 2026.
