IPTV for Polish Channels in the USA: Which Channel, Where (2026)

Short answer: you can't legally buy TVP1, Polsat or TVN as they air in Poland from anywhere in the US. What you can buy are their diaspora channels: TVP Polonia, Polsat 1 and iTVN, plus the news channels TVN24 and Polsat News. DISH and Sling carry them, with DISH packs running $24.99 to $34.99 a month in fall 2026. Any IPTV seller offering the domestic Polish line-up with "49,000 channels" for $58 a year isn't licensed for the US, and Polish broadcasters have gone to US court over exactly that.

Domestic channels vs diaspora channels

This one distinction explains almost every frustration Polish viewers in the US have.

The big Polish broadcasters run two kinds of channel. Domestic channels like TVP1, TVP2, Polsat and TVN are built for viewers in Poland. They're full of imported films, foreign series and sport whose rights were bought for Poland only. Selling those feeds abroad would breach dozens of contracts, so the broadcasters don't.

Diaspora channels exist to solve that. They're assembled from programming each broadcaster owns outright, cleared for worldwide use:

  • TVP Polonia: public broadcaster TVP's channel for Poles abroad. Its own series, news, documentaries and cultural programming.
  • Polsat 1: launched in December 2015 for international audiences, replacing Polsat 2 abroad. Polsat's series and entertainment shows.
  • iTVN (TVN International): TVN's diaspora channel since 2004, with its series, news and entertainment. iTVN Extra adds more.

The news channels TVN24 and Polsat News travel more easily because news is mostly self-produced, which is why both appear on US services.

Practical upshot: you'll get the Polish series, the evening news and the talk shows. You won't get the Hollywood films TVN shows on Saturday night, and you'll get limited live sport.

DISH's Polish packs, priced

DISH publishes three Polish add-ons on its international page. They sit on top of a DISH base package.

DISH pack Price/month Channels Who it's for
Polish TVN Complete $24.99 3 (iTVN, iTVN Extra, TVN24) TVN loyalists, news watchers
Polish Premium $29.99 15 Mixed household
Polish Super $34.99 16 Widest line-up incl. Polsat 1, Kino Polska, kids

Some DISH resellers advertise lower introductory rates with a 24-month agreement. Compare the price in month 13, not month one.

Our view: DISH is excellent value if you already have it, because the add-on is just more channels in the same guide. For a new customer it's a heavy commitment, since you're signing up for satellite TV and a contract to get a $25-35 Polish add-on. If you'd only watch the Polish channels, that's the wrong way round.

Sling: the no-contract route

Sling sells Polish channels as standalone international packs, so you don't need its English-language Orange or Blue plans. Its Polish page lists iTVN, Polsat 1 and Disco Polo among the channels, with "Polish Basic" and "Polish Mosaic" tiers, up to three streams, and free catch-up TV.

Sling doesn't show the Polish price until you start sign-up, and it changes more often than DISH's, so check it there. What matters more: it's monthly. You can subscribe for the election night or the holiday season and cancel afterwards.

Sling runs on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, most smart TVs and phones, so there's no box to buy. If you need a device, our streaming device guide covers the trade-offs, and using one service across several TVs explains stream limits.

Free and legal Polish TV

Before paying, see whether free sources cover your list.

  • TVP World streams free online. It's in English, but it's TVP's newsroom covering Poland.
  • Official YouTube channels. TVN, Polsat and TVP publish clips, full talk-show segments and some full episodes on their own channels. Fine for catching up on a particular programme.
  • Broadcaster websites. Some news and current-affairs content plays abroad; most entertainment and anything with bought-in rights doesn't. When a video shows a "not available in your region" message, that's the rights system working as intended, not a bug.

For anyone who watches mainly news, TVP World plus YouTube may be enough. For series and evening entertainment, one of the paid diaspora packs is the legal answer. Our Polish TV streaming comparison goes deeper on the streaming apps side.

Why geoblocking isn't just annoying

If you've ever wondered why TVP won't just let you watch its website from Chicago, there's a court case that answers it.

For 25 years, until December 2019, TVP's channels in the Americas were distributed by Spanski Enterprises, a Canadian company with exclusive rights. In 2016 a US court found TVP liable for copyright infringement because it had streamed programmes on its domestic website without geoblocking, so viewers in the US could watch content Spanski held exclusive rights to.

That's the system in miniature. Rights are sold per territory, the buyer pays for exclusivity, and a broadcaster that leaks its domestic feed abroad pays damages. It's why every licensed US option carries diaspora channels and why no legitimate seller offers the domestic line-up here. Our explainer on whether IPTV is legal in the US covers the general rules.

Time zones and the evening news

Poland runs six hours ahead of New York and nine ahead of Los Angeles. TVP's main evening news at 7:30pm Warsaw time airs at 1:30pm Eastern and 10:30am Pacific, which is the wrong end of the day for most people.

That makes catch-up more valuable than channel count. A few practical notes:

  • Sling advertises free catch-up TV on its Polish channels, so the evening news can wait until your evening.
  • DISH lets you record international channels on the Hopper DVR like any other channel. Set a series recording once.
  • Diaspora channels re-run their main programmes, often at times aimed at the Americas. Check the schedule in your provider's guide rather than the Polish website, which lists Warsaw time.

If an older relative is the main viewer, a recorded news programme waiting in the DVR list each day is often simpler than any live channel. Our catch-up TV explainer covers how replay differs from recording.

The "Polish IPTV" sellers

Search for Polish IPTV and the commercial results are mostly sellers offering TVP1, Polsat, TVN, Canal+ Polska and "49,000+ channels from 60 countries" for $58 to $78 a year, with a 24-hour trial and support over WhatsApp. Some borrow the name of a well-known player app in their branding.

A few things to know:

  • The channel list is the giveaway. Domestic TVP1, Polsat, TVN and Canal+ Polska aren't licensed for US distribution by anyone. A seller offering them can't have a licence.
  • The app name means nothing. Players like TiviMate or IPTV Smarters don't sell channels. A store using their name is borrowing it. We explain the difference in IPTV Smarters and providers.
  • No company, no recourse. These pages rarely name a registered business. If the service stops after three months of an annual plan, there's nobody to claim from.

We won't name or recommend these services. If you already have a legitimate playlist or login, for example from a European operator that licenses it for your use, a player app is fine. But for Polish TV in the US, the licensed paths are DISH and Sling.
