Formuler Z11 Pro Max Review (2026): Still Worth $209.99?

Short answer: the Formuler Z11 Pro Max is a well-built, dependable IPTV box whose value rests almost entirely on one app, MYTVOnline 3. If you want that app, with its portal, Xtream and M3U support and a remote with a proper number pad, it's a good buy. If you don't, $209.99 is a lot in 2026 for a box launched in October 2022 on Android 11. A $60 Google TV box with TiviMate does most of the same job, and BuzzTV's G-Series offers a newer Android version for $149.99.

MYTVOnline 3, the reason it exists

Almost every positive review of this box is really a review of MYTVOnline. It's Formuler's own live TV app, pre-installed and tuned for the hardware.

What it does:

  • Three source types. Stalker/MAG-style portals, Xtream Codes logins and M3U playlists. That breadth is rarer than it sounds; most players do two.
  • Multiple providers at once, with Universal Search across all of them and across live, film and series content.
  • Live TV features: grid EPG, catch-up where the provider supports it, recording to internal storage or USB, and timeshift for pausing live TV.
  • Pinned groups and a watchlist, which help tame a large channel list.

MYTVOnline 3 was released with the Z11 series. The Z12 Ultra can move to MYTVOnline 4 by official update; Formuler's own comparison presents the Z11 Pro Max as staying on version 3. If you're buying new and want the latest app, that's a point in the Z12 Ultra's favour.

Plenty of people prefer TiviMate, which is more customisable and runs on cheap hardware. Others prefer MYTVOnline's MAG-like layout and the fact that it's integrated with the box and remote. It's a matter of taste. Our IPTV player roundup compares the main options.

One reminder: MYTVOnline doesn't come with channels. You add a service you've subscribed to. Many consumer "portal" sellers aren't licensed; check before you pay.

Hardware: good, not new

Networking is excellent. Gigabit Ethernet and 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 are both better than most streamers. Wired is still the most reliable way to watch live TV, and the Pro Max makes it easy.

AV1 support is a genuine plus. Some providers and platforms use AV1 for more efficient 4K. Not every older box can decode it in hardware.

4GB RAM and 32GB storage are comfortable for a big EPG and recordings. They were generous in 2022 and are still fine.

The chip is the weak spot. The Realtek RTD1319C is capable for video but middling for general Android use. Formuler's own comparison notes that the Z11 Pro, Pro Max and Z12 Ultra share the same processor; the differences are memory, storage and wireless. Navigation in MYTVOnline is smooth; heavier third-party apps can feel slower than on a 2026 Amlogic S905X5 box.

Android 11 is the long-term concern. It's still supported by most apps in 2026, but it's four major versions behind. App developers eventually drop older versions, and Formuler hasn't published an Android upgrade path for the Z11 series.

Streaming apps and certification

This is where to be careful. Formuler says the box supports Widevine L1, the DRM level services use for HD and 4K. It also says, clearly, that this doesn't guarantee any particular service has certified the device, or that HD or 4K playback will work in every app.

In practice: if you want YouTube TV, Sling, Netflix, Max or Disney+ on the same box, check each service works at the quality you want before relying on it. If those apps are important, a certified Google TV device (the BuzzTV G-Series, an onn 4K Pro, or a Shield) is the safer choice. We compare the options in BuzzTV vs Formuler and Formuler vs MAG.

Z11 Pro, Pro Max, BT1 or Z12 Ultra?

Model RAM / storage Wireless OS / app Choose if
Z11 Pro 2GB / 16GB Wi-Fi 5 Android 11 / MYTVOnline 3 Light use, tight budget
Z11 Pro Max 4GB / 32GB Wi-Fi 6 Android 11 / MYTVOnline 3 Most MYTVOnline users
Z11 Pro Max BT1 4GB / 32GB Wi-Fi 6 Same, Bluetooth remote You don't want to point the remote
Z12 Ultra 4GB / 128GB Wi-Fi 6E Android 12 / MYTVOnline 4 by update You record a lot or want the newest app

If you're spending over $200 anyway, look hard at the Z12 Ultra. Four times the storage, a newer Android version and the next MYTVOnline make it a better long-term purchase.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • MYTVOnline 3 handles portals, Xtream and M3U in one polished app
  • Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6
  • Hardware AV1 decoding
  • 4GB RAM and 32GB storage, recording and timeshift
  • IPTV-friendly remote with a number pad

Cons

  • $209.99 for a 2022 box
  • Android 11 with no announced upgrade
  • Streaming service certification not guaranteed
  • Same chip as the cheaper Z11 Pro
  • Sold mainly through Formuler's stores and dealers, so fewer sales and harder returns than mainstream retail

Verdict

If you've used MYTVOnline and like it, or you're moving from a MAG box and want the same feel with Android on top, the Z11 Pro Max is a solid, proven choice. Consider the Z12 Ultra if the price gap is small where you buy.

If you're coming to it fresh, start cheaper. An onn 4K Pro and TiviMate cost well under $100 together and cover most of what MYTVOnline does. See our onn 4K Pro review and best streaming devices for IPTV. You can always upgrade later if you find you miss a proper IPTV box.

And buy it plain. Formuler boxes are often resold with a year of "service" bundled. That service is the part to be wary of.
